Agricole blanc from French Guyana 50% abv.
Nose: earthy, grassy, herbal, lightly moldy
Palate: lot of heat, very earthy and grassy, herbal, lightly citrusy, bit star anise
Finish: quite hot and very dry, after a while it turns bit watery
Overall: great blanc agricole to add to your collection, is bit more different than martinique blancs, this one is more bold and taste is very earthy and herbal with less citrus and fruit flavors.
Martinique Blancs for me often tend to have more citrusy and fruity profile.
The rhum agricoles from french Guyana is a bit different from those of Martinique or Guadeloupe, they have a sort of earthiness of their own. La Belle Cabresse is one of my top favorites for ti-punch...
When you have no other choice to desinfect, this is your best pick. Strong and sharp alcohol that even kills you tatste buts.
The best rum ever ... from my fabukous place in south america ..french guyana .... the most beatiful rum for ti punch !
Un bon rhum blanc parfumé et riche en saveurs. En planteur ou en ti punch c'est très bon
Le meilleur rhum en ti-punch. Dommage qu'il soit si difficile à trouver en dehors de Guyane...
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This brand, La Belle Cabresse, is produced by the Saint Maurice Distillery in French Guiana.
It’s the only distillery left in French Guiana nowadays.
The Sugar Refinery and Distillery was founded in 1935, but it was at first in 1980 that the current Saint Maurice Rhums Company was founded and the sugar refinery activity closed some years later.
Today, the estate has their own sugar cane fields around 100 hectares big.
The label of the La Belle Cabresse is a little special, while keeping its historical imprint, the “Chabine”, a Guyanese woman with her Madras headdress which most Agricole brands have left because of its strong connotation.
This Agricole Blanc Is distilled in a column still and the result is a fresh and delicate Agricole.
The nose is soft, grassy, earthy and peppery with hints of lime.
At the palate it’s salty, peppery, grassy, earthy and floral with hints of lime and honey and a certain sweetness.
The final is rather long.
Overall I think it’s great neat. It also works well in a Ti Punch, but can’t really compete with the best ones in my opinion.
