Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Hands down top pick for rum & coke. Dry oaky taste makes it right at home in a glass by itself. I do not allow myself to run out!
Great aromas. Havana does not dissapoint. Among all rums solid 6 but I gave 7 for its price to quality value. In my homemade tests I compared to Bacardi Carta Negra.... stunning results.. ay Cuba, Cuba. By the way here in Ireland in Tesco captain morgan is around 30 eur where havana 7 y is 42 eur.
Simple rum for sipping, but:
+ not sweet
+ not boring; nice tobacco flavors
For the price, I can recommend this rum to everyone as a sipping rum.
This is the one that started it all back in the Islas Canarias, were I learnt to drink rum. It's great for a quality Mojito or a simple rum & coke.
I find it to harsh for a sipping rum, it's certainly not bad and If all other bottles were empty this would be a fine last resort. Certainly with its relatively cheap price (+/-27€ for a liter bottle).

Whether you're an experienced rum aficionado or a spirit explorer, Havana Club 7-Year is a journey worth embarking upon.
I bought this bottle on vacation without tasting it because I knew I couldn't get it where I lived, and then I checked the reviews and was horrified by the descriptions of smoke and leather. I am not a whisky drinker, and those sounded like whisky terms, so I rushed to my bottle and opened it up to try it and I can say I am very pleasantly surprised. It's definitely got a lot of character, but in the best possible way! It's great! Can't wait to try this in some cocktails, and I could definitely see some people enjoying it to sip, maybe with a cigar. :)
First "serious" rum i ever tasted. Still like it, especially considering the price.
I do like to drink a coke next to it.
Um dos runs mais suaves para se tomar, desce macio com aroma e paladar muito agradavel

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."

Living in the US, this isn't obtainable, so I was very interested in picking this up when I was traveling. This is decent rum, but would be far better at a higher strength.
