Havana Club 3-Year rum is produced from molasses and aged for 3 years in white oak barrels before filtering and bottling.
Havana Club rum is produced in Cuba, where the company was founded in 1878 by José Arechabala. The company was nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution and now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

The rum itself is not very interesting. The color is not brown, and the rum has a bland taste.
I love this rum in mixed drinks like Cuba Libre.

This is perfect as a mixer but that is about it. I personally would not choose this over Malibu (which isnt even a full rum). So yeah. A 5 for me. Do not sip this, you re just an idiot if you sip white rums anyway. But for a mixer this is the best you re going to get if you re looking for a mixer.
Bottle is quite generic and color is...clear :D On the nose I get a slight hint of fruits. On palate over ice is nothing nice to say about, full on boose with a disturbing hint of a dusty wood. But when I made another drink with a fistfull of ice and a generous dash of coke, I goes like down like a 20$ companion :D go figure!
As I'm pretty sure some brake fluids taste better, I think it would be nice if Havana Club warn their customers on the label.
Although I realize it is not a sipper and that there are many bad rums, this one is exceptionally spitable. However it's somehow acceptable in mixes, if you have no other choice.
Rum is by itself not so enjoyable, not good for sipping, it's only usefull for mixing it with (cola), very very much Cola. My friend was drinking it straight from the bottle and almost got AIDS. In conclusion - not that bad rum.
This rum does not make sense to evaluate for direct consumption, as it is mainly intended for the preparation of rum drinks. I have personally made Mojitos and Daiquiris with it and both of them tasted great. I'm still going to try the Mai Tai.
'intense nose with accents of vanilla, caramelized pears'
"Havana Club 3-Year rum review by The Ultimate Rum Guide"
The nose is very sweet.
"When sipped the rum is fairly smooth but it doesn’t have an abundance of flavour. Its sweet but very short."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not a massive fan of white rums but Havana 3 is drinkable compared to others out there.
