Depaz Vieux VO 3-Year

I cannot understand the less than positive reviews for this rum. Folk complaining about an alcohol burn?, it is 45% proof an not that bad at all in my opinion.
So many beautiful and complex flavours in every sip. It reminds me somewhat of Smith and Cross's Traditional Jamaican Rum, which just explodes with flavours in every sip.
One of the tastiest rums I have experienced for a long time. Perfectly sweet and "spicey".

Good value. Lovely floral nose with cut grass, hay, sugarcane and exotic fruits like pineapple and a nice springle of pepper. The pallete has a little agricole bite but is actually surprisingly refined nontheless with a medium body and juicy character. The notes from the nose follow through in the mouth with a nice spicy finish fading into oak and white pepper. Good stuff.

Rhum vieux légé avec une belle couleur.
Manque de longueur en bouche mais un bon nez plein d'aromes.

Not too sweet, nice peppery spice, but the aftertaste/ bite is a little sharp/rough.

Sladká a příjemná vůně, hodně kokosu. Chuť dobrá, na agricole jemnější, úplně mě ale neoslovila.

En bouche, des saveurs de fruits confits et d'épices. Une assez belle rondeur mais surtout une attaque puissante 45 degrés quand même
Une finale assez longue.

OK, average rum, not so bad as some of the reviews indicate

Il s'agit d'un rhum vieux (3ans) vieilli en fût de chêne
La bouteille est belle et sobre, le rhum est couleur vieil or soutenu.
Le nez pique un peu, forte odeur d'alcool. On sent les 45°.
L'attaque est très sèche, avec une dominante d'alcool puis de bois...
Ensuite, le goût se développe, se fait plus agréable, avec une belle note de canne.
Pas désagréable mais rien d'exceptionnel.
Faut reconnaitre que c'est plutôt une boisson d'homme !
Quitte à goûter un vieux depaz, autant investir dans le vsop qui est bien meilleur.
