With its favorable aging process, this Rhum Transat really nice and enjoyable.
With a nice amber color accompanied of golden reflects, the Millésime 2000 propose
an interesting nose with woody aromas, mint, banana, spices.
Once on the palate, this rhum is a little bit dryer then expected by the nose but
really not too much. All flavors detected by the nose are still presents when you sip it.
It is even a little bit more spicied ( pepper ).
A really intersting Rhum which is quite different on the nose than on the palate.
A new rum from Martinique that aged 15 years in oak barrels and then traveled 5 months by boat to France, in Burgundy. It then aged for few months in barrels containing great wines of burgundy wines. And finally aged 1 month in new oak barrels. A rich and intense nose with woody notes see on tobacco aromas. Nuts are also present as well as vanilla. Impossible to know that one is in front of an agricultural rum. On the palate, woody notes and tobacco are present with a very tannic side. The finish is very long always on tobacco and spices. Superb work. A beautiful promise for the future of this brand.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

There is a fruity and caramel note. Very smooth. Delicious and strong. After pouring the rum over ice, the flavor changed a bit. Definitely a delicious blend of many different flavors.
