Starts with sweet taste, ends dry, feeling oak wood, spicy, bit plum. Maybe to mix within some drinks...
Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special! Not something Special!
Very good. Nice. Spicy. Solid. Bong. Tresbien. Si. Senor
Bueno para compartir con amigos, agradables aroma y dorado intenso!!!
Sin hielo va bien.
Nice to start, not really bad but not really good. The sweety taste helps if you don't like dry and strong rum.
Heavy on the nose with caramel and molasses and a light fruitiness behind it. The first sip has a thin mouth feel, but a lot of flavor. It leads with a light sweetness followed by rum with a medium finish that leaves behind the taste of a honey-crisp apple with a little heat. Not as sweet as the Exclusiva, but a tasty flavor. A decent sipper, but at the price point would feature well in a premium cocktail.
Light bodied rum wtith hints of brown sugar, caramel and litghtly oak. Boring finish
Scheint die Ablösung des Anejo und Reserva zu sein, eigentlich schade.
In Glas schönes helles Bernstein.
Seems to be the replacement of the Anejo and Reserva, actually a pity.
In glass beautiful bright amber.
The nose shows delicate nuances of vanilla, caramel and some wood.
Not very exciting on the palate, some caramel candy with vanilla sauce, but much less sweet than the Reserva or Reserva Exclusiva.
In the finish, unfortunately away quickly.
Certainly a great Ron to mix, but can also be drunk straight. A Ron for the undemanding Rum drinker.
Rum nemá vůni ani chuť, která by zaujala. Rozhodně doporučuji bratra v podobě Reserva Exclusiva.
Best I've had for a great price ff
Sweet on the nose. Pretty balanced without being overly sweet. Mais la bouteille verte est meilleure.
You may be temted by low price, but content is worth much less. I assume this is way to make higher margins. Low quality rum parasiting on a good name of Diplomatico.
It can be felt that Ron is little sharper.its taste is not so sweet But can be present. Smell is not so expressive, few feelings from oak. Ron is good to have better drink made of ron.
good Diplomatico but not their best
I prefer the classic one
Not very strong flavor but tasty and with a long finishing.
Not sweet, tastes a bit like some kind of metal...or something else I can´t explain. It´s a bit weird, but still ok for the price, and something different.
My daily tot without fail!
Salted caramel, spiciness and woody oak aroma. Comes with fruitiness of ripe peach and plum. Light hint of dark chocolate and coffee beans.
Dry, peppery and spicy. Follow with chocolate ganache and praline. A light touch of sweetness compare with Reserva Exclusiva which gives good balance to the spicy after taste.
Strong spicy woody finishing, with of bitter sweet milk chocolate and coffee beans.
Correct sans plus, c’est un bon produit mais fort gout alcool
Good but nowhere near as good as the diplomatico reserva granted it's cheaper by a few quid bit the difference in taste is vast
A little dried fruit, plum and vanilla. However, a little faint taste that I do not like
The first impression from this rum comes out when someone opens the bottle and gives a gentle nose close up.. There is not the richness and the power of spices like Reserva Exclusiva , there is not the feeling like rocking the senses..
In the glass, the color is excellent caramel brown and the tears rich and slow sediment..First nose and there is a feeling of spirit aggressiveness.. but also a sweetness coming out superficially and not so gently.. Some sensing of caramel and dark chocolate flavors come out..
In the mouth, that first aggressive feeling of pure spirit there is also present, there is a lack of the gentleness of the age.. No need to analyze more the spices and aftertaste, this rum it's sharp and no complex at all, it is recommended for cocktails and with coke..
Purchased for $22.99 in Pittsfield, MA. Interesting bottle. I wondered if this rum was as sweet as the other higher end Diplomaticos. Deep amber color, but not too dark. Light on the nose. First sip has a little strong alcohol in the front end, overall good flavor with lighter finish. Not very complex. Overall good for the price - recommendable.
This is a low budget rum. Not suitable for sipping. But an ok rum for a rum coca cola. Add some ice for a better effect.
About four months ago, I tried my first bottle of Diplomatico, which was their Reserva. Slowly but surely, I wound up hating it and swore to never buy it again. Well that Reserva has now been replaced by this Mantuano. Rumors were also running that it was going to replace their Reserva Exclusiva, which would be absolutely foolish on their part. However, we all need to back off on rums with added sugars, so I reluctantly bought this bottle today.
Cut most of the spice and all of the sugar syrup from their Reserva Exclusiva and you can get a pretty good idea what this one tastes like. Is it an enjoyable sipper? Hell no! Some have complained of harsh alcohol burn. Just let it breathe for a while! So what is it good for? As others have already said, it would probably make a good Cuba Libre, but I am out of cola for now.
This is also the dry replacement for their discontinued semi-dry Diplomatico Reserva. This one has only 8 gpl of added sugar and so did their discontinued Diplomatico Blanco. Their Reserva had 12 gpl of added sugar.
Honestly I hated it... Absolutely not my type, but I must say that it is a well constructed rum.
Quite balanced between oaky bitterness and caramel sweetness...
