This is the best quality rum I have had at this price point. Strong flavours and nose at first but by your third sip its a smoother. Hints of coco or Carmel in the finish. I will be adding this to my collection to age.

Rum na kazdodenne pitie. Nie je taky sladky a chut je velmi vyvazena.
Nice spicy caramel nose. Mouth has almost none of that initial alcohol bite, but to me has a negatively over spiced flavor. For drinking neat, it's my least favorite of all the Diplomatico offerings. However, that spiciness peeks through the Coke flavor for a respectable Rum and Coke. Now that statement needs some clarification. I've been lucky enough to have had three bottles of Roble Viejo Ultra Añejo Rum delivered to me by Family traveling from Venezuela. This ROBLEY offering has a wonderful spicy woody caramel flavor profile that busts through the Coke flavor for an unbelievably exceptional Rum and Coke. This Diplomatico offering has the exact flavor profile, but to a lessor strength. With the Diplomatico Mantauno this flavor profile is precieved to break through by varying amounts in different seatings, where with the Roble there's never a question of it busting through. This still makes this Diplomatico offering my go to for Rum and Coke since the Roble Viejo Ultra Añejo Rum is only available at a duty free shop in the Venezuelan Airport.
As a sipping Rum I would have rated this Diplomatico offering lower, but gave it the 9 for it's value in a Rum and Coke

I like Reserva Exclusiva, but Mantuano proved to be a good option.
The distillate has quality, and has less sugar than Reserva Exclusiva.
Simple flavor, but cheap for the quality it has.
I recommend.
Όπως - πολύ σωστά - είπε ένας φίλος πρόκειται για ένα ρούμι όπως το diplomatico Res. Excl. χωρίς ιδιαίτερη γλύκα . Εγώ προσωπικά το προτιμώ από την Res. Excl.

Beautifully smooth rum, perfect for sipping over ice. (I keep mine in the freezer).
A pub in my home town keeps a bottle of this behind the bar, and as such i have found myself fairly regularly ordering this rum with a ginger ale mixer, and it is a great combination for a reasonable price.
I have tried it neat and it is perfectly sippable no one taste overpowering the overall mix, lightly spiced, hints of caramel, dark chocolate, treacle all combine to make it very palatable. Some may call it bland, I call it well balanced.
It’s sweet with scents of brazil nuts and some butteryness like shortbread. .
"Overall it is a sweet rum. There is a little spice on the palate and a tiny slither of oak. The finish has a little coffee and a touch of caramel. It is smooth and very easy to drink."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very Similar to the now discontinued Reserva, probably some kind of rebranding based on the also discontinued Anejo. both were removed from the Diplomatico website. first notes after getting the new Mantuano bottle for 35% less the price i used to pay for the Reserva was that it lost some of it's syrupy consistency. Color is still dark and beautiful and aromas strike the nose in a very similar manner. it is very close almost similar in taste although the more itchy biting alcoholic hint in the finish discloses the fact it is younger on overall, probably a compromise of the two discontinued products into a new blend. which might be good for selling their Anejo stocks. Reserva got 9 from me. Mantuano is getting 8 since still it competes well with many other Rums that are ranked at 7 and surely deserves more respect. the whole Diplomatico range is beautifully balanced on the sweet medicinal side and i really enjoy them much more than some more famous "great" Rums. for 50% price i paid for my bottles compared to the still available Reserva the drop in mautration is not reflected by the price. lets just hope it stays in such price in the future.
