How do you get to the Virgin Islands without leaving your backyard in Atlanta?
In a bottle of this rum. I drank it over a large rock, with so little bite it goes down too easy explaining the over pours. Mikey Callwood says his rum will not give you a hangover because there are no additives, and in my case he was right. And now that it can be ordered on-line and delivered to my door I will be returning for more. Nothing to dissect here, it's uncomplicated and relaxing. Should be drank while barefoot and telling bad jokes.

What got me started into loving rum. Very smooth-10 year aged in pot stills outside. Would only drink their 10 year as a sipping rum.

About 8y ago I purchased this little flask direct from their door, in Tortola.

Out of their variety this was by far the best.

When I first tasted it, I would have rated it a 5/10 - 6/10. But it seems over the years has improved somewhat.

Smell: sweet like treacle
Color: light honey brown
Taste: Mellow flavors are brief and short lasting.

More for mixing, rather than sipping.

We booked a cruise (pre Hurticane of course) mainly because Tortola was one of the included ports. Since the rum isn't readily available outside of the BVI where it is made, I honestly think it is the experience, the history, that you feel when you sip it that adds to the taste. Look for harshness elsewhere, this has flavor and depth. Try the panty remover, or the 10 year. Also I hear they do seasonal flavors but I haven't tried one.

I've heard nothing but praises about this rum, but I just can't relate to it. Made from cane juice, not molasses, but unlike any agricole I've had. It tastes like those vanilla caramel candies from olde-time candy store. There's the oddest herbal flavor to it that I just can't put my finger on. The bottle I sampled tasted like it had been watered down. Something missing here, I can't see why anyone would rave over this. It is very, very smooth, but I'd rather have something harsh that leaves a memorable taste in my mouth.

When you've been distilling rum since the pirates roamed the Caribbean you are bound to get it right. Don't forget to visit the distillery when you're in Tortola.

Spent some time at this tiny Tortola distillery right after they re-opened post-Irma. Such a simple but well executed operation & the rum was exceptional. Perhaps a touch sweeter than i normally prefer but very smooth to sip.

Been to this distillery many times. So true to their believes that they dont care what the experts say. They are a small batch old fashioned distillery. They just love what they do. I gave them an 9 because they are so into keeping things simple and pure. Which is exactly how their rums are! Keep in mind this is NOT a premier distillery but a true source that represents the origins of the art. If you ever have the chance to visit Tortola DO NOT miss this place.

It's really hard to find outside the BVI's, but this is some seriously good stuff. Smooth and rich, with a great flavor and a nice, warm, but not too strong, burn
