Sugar: 30 GPL.
While the colour and taste of the rum does reflect the impact of the Red Wine barrels it was aged in, the special aging didn't do the trick. I found that there was a strong alcohol in both the taste and aroma. It's got a nice burnt brown sugar taste with a trace of bourbon burn. Overall I found it to be a tad harsh on the nose and in taste, and horribly over priced at $130 CDN. I would stick with the better known 12, 15, or 21 year old rums from El Dorado. Mix only.

Smoother and less sweet nose than dos madera with the traditional kick of el dorado 15 but with a smokey dos maderas type finish

Its taste it is better than its aroma.
Sweet but strong. The alcohol covers the aromas. Tones of caramel
