wasn't seeing great comments on an expensive rum but i was curious for a tasting. i didn't find the challenges the others rum raters did. I expected the forward notes on the nose and mouth and honestly didn't find the experience as uncomfortable. it wasn't something I would go out of my way to enjoy again as there are far better rums at a better value but enjoyed the taste. I love the kill devil story and glad to have the brand represented in my cabinet.
I had the chance to try that pretty expensive rum. As I prefer sweet rum like Centenario, Opthimus or QRM, this one wasn't really enjoyable.
Complex taste, but nothings for me...
To me it's clearly Angostura, and not Caroni. However, it's not as tasty as other Angos I've tasted in their early-to-mid 20's. A bit heavy on the oak.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Boooooom goes the dynamite... this stuff is on fire, keep the fire extinguisher near by because you are going to need it, if it were possible the name it lives by could do just that but we all know the Devil will never die. Anyhow, this stuff is fire fire and fire. Huge nose of esters and a slight hint of dark fruits. Burns the nose, mouth stomach and everything else it touches. Add a few drops of water and it opens up and is somewhat enjoyable. Crazzy funky rum ryech there!!!
