Guyana | Aged | 43% ABV

El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.

The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

I am a beginner, my experience is Matusalem 23 Solera, Zacapa 23 Solera and now I am trying Eldorado 15. For me, this rum is the best of the three roms. The aroma of this rum is something ... the taste and aftertaste are delicious. 10 points definitely

Itโ€™s as smooth and complex as Zacappa XO which costs much more.

Thereโ€™s a slight burn which fades away very quickly and than this one opens with a ton of flavors. Sweetness in a form of toffife caramel burnt nuts and a ton more. Aftertaste lasts for a whole minute.

I liked the 12 years on a rocks but this one is to be enjoyed on itโ€™s one.

This one is a must.

Although it has its sweetness it is not overwhelmingly sticky sweet like the Diplomatico reserve. That's because this is a mature liquid "crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums" (Diplomatico reserve is a blend of rums some of which are aged up to 12 years - that does not make it a 12 year old rum). El Dorado SR 15's long years in oak casks give it a nice variety of flavors. It's at a very attractive price point for the quality of liquid.

Extremely smooth & the perfect amount of sweetness. May be my favorite sipper in my bar. At $44, itโ€™s well worth the price to me.

Got a taste of this while hanging out in a bar in the Caribbean. I took a bottle home with meโ€”and the flavours followed. Excellent taste for sipping.

Drink this one neat or on the rocks. Use the 12 for mixing in good cocktails. I'm quite partial to the Demerara style.

Top notch, prefer it to the 21yr old, buy this and just like others have said/stated use as the benchmark of excellence..
