Guyana | Aged | 43% ABV

El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.

The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

This was a first quality rum what I ever tasted! And it was love for a first sip!
Lotยดs of flavours and beutifull long aftertaste! Too bad that they all are sold years ago here in Finland.

Very smooth and more complex than the 12, I always have a bottle in my collection. A must for rum drinkers!

This is an old stand-by for me. Delicious either neat, with ice, or mixed with coke, this is a fantastic rum. Bursting with flavours and smooth to boot!

I will just say this is very similar to the 12 yr in that it is a robust rum that is highly sweetened with added sugar, to the tune of 30 g/ltr. This is not nearly as much as the 12 yr which is 45 g/ltr but it it still near the top of the scale according to the Swedish and Finnish lists I have seen.

At least this is a rum that is not overwhelmed by the added sugar, as are some I have had.

Full bodied in flavor, it was my first "rum-love" many many many years ago... nowadays I learnt that it has a whole lot of sugar added, around 31g/L and I was disappointed to learn that. I don`t want a bottle full of added sugar, I want a bottle of rum! I want rum that is pure, not full of sweetening crap. Rum is not supposed to be sweet, it`s a misconception that rum is sweet because itยดs made of sugarcane. During distillation the yeast converts the sugar from the cane into alcohol and no sugar is in the rum after distillation is done.

Similar to the 12 year old as it can be enjoyed on the rocks or mixed. It adds a variety of flavours to cola & truly enhances it. With the dark colours & attractive aroma it is one every rum connoisseur should have on hand.

I bought a bottle of this as my introduction to El Dorado. I really like to sip it. The 21 YO is in it's own class, but you will not be disappointed with the 15.

Drier than 12 and slightly less flavor, but still one of the best sippers out there. A bit pricey only when compared to other ED products, but much better value than Zacapa or Mount Gay.

Deep amber, mahoganey in color. medium legs that slowly drop. Nose is fruitcake & tobacco with a hint of charred oak. taste is orange peel and spice with a nice finish that includes a little leathery tobacco note. This was the rum that "hooked" me and the rum that all others will forever be forced to live up to.
