El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year

Un rhum rond, fruité et légèrement sucré. Bref un rhum comme je les aime qui donne vraiment envie de tester le 21...

Sweet fruity fudge-smell.
Uniqe warm and round taste of pear.
A new favourite for me indeed.
Great sipper on its own.

A lot of reviewers have said if you like the El Dorado 21, you should get this instead at less than half the price. I agree. In my opinion, this is even a bit smoother and sweeter than the 21, though the extra aging on the 21 makes it slightly more complex. I ever so slightly prefer this to the 21.

I was a little surprised over it, I expected more full body taste. I did taste it with dark chocolate also and it did improve with longer after taste. My next will bee 21year.

Another quality rum from ED. Not as sweet as the 12 yr, and honestly a totally different animal. Quite fruity and well balanced. The finish is long and lovely. Leather and black licorice (which is a first for me). Definitely a keeper!

I really don't care about the colour. I could drink it straight in the dark and it would still be amazing. I have sailed all over the world and tried different rums in 79 countries, and never have I found anything comparable to ED 15. It is a smooth, mellow drink with a great finish. I'm not much of a rum expert as far as identifying flavour nuances, but I do know what pleases me and this is it. I personally keep it in my freezer and drink it straight in a chilled glass. No ice.

Middleman you ask? Well the 3 aged rums from Demerara are undoubtedly fantastic sipping rums, but the 15yr is my favourite. I like to compare it more to its older brother with the sweetness and wood flavours. The nose of current, and mincemeat. I let it sit and open up. The aromas of fennel, walnut, and clove come to profile. Take your time with this rum and you will truly enjoy it!

Very smooth sipping rum. I enjoy it on the rocks and sometimes with a splash of Pepsi.

My precious! This is the best rum in my bar. Thick sugarcane aroma not to sweet. Flavors of chocolate, vanilla and dark fruits. Yummie!

Bottle : Nice low bottle which feels old.
Nose : Dark scent which promises a good taste
Taste : The taste is strong and dark. Packed with raisins and low in vanilla.
Finish : It slowly leaves the mouth with no strange tones at all. When it´s over you just hit another zip and wait for it to finish again.

This one was prized in a community that i follow.. And i thought .. Well let´s try it out.. Now it has an own place in my cabinet and i always stock a full bottle so i never will run dry from it.
