After an escapade with the fantastic El Dorado line, I was doubtful there were rums that could match them (El Dorado) in cost-to-quality. However, I decided to give this Plantation a go because I heard great things about its more expensive counterparts, and am happy that I did!

As far as the taste goes, it's pleasantly light and extremely approachable--much like what Japanese whiskey is to its respective genre. I catch mild hints of lemon, cinnamon and tropical fruits on both the nose and palate. It's very smooth going down. Flavor does dissipate instantly once swallowed, which I find interesting.

Overall, Plantation Grande Reserve is better than the El Dorado 5-Year, and about on par with the 8-Year as the best rum in its price bracket. Great sipper, great mixer, and should appeal to both the experienced and inexperienced rum drinker.

Very good taste for that young rum. Smooth and fruity flavour of dried fruit and cinamon.

Välsmakande och lättdrucken. Mycket sötma och inslag av vanilj.

Can be sipped on it's own, but does its best work in Tiki cocktails
Golden color, aroma of banana, coconut, vanilla. Medium soft body, sweet notes of coconut, caramelised fruit and a bit of an oaky finish

Enkel och bra rom med mycket värde för pengarna! Perfekt sötma med en avslappnad smakupplevelse. Ingen wow faktor men precis lagom. En trevlig rom helt klart!

I like the majority of Plantation rums and this one did not disappoint. Being from Barbados is a plus, better than Cockspur and worth having on your shelf as a staple. Great value keep some around if you can find it.

En dejlig rum, man ikke skal tænke så meget over. Jeg bruger den oftest til cocktail

I didn’t like this one particularly well. It had too much of a boozy aftertaste.
