I drove another 16 miles past my beach vacation location to the liquor store that showed the El Dorado 2006 Single Barrel Port Morant in stock. Instead, I find this one in it's place on the shelf for the same price ($80 US). At first, I was quite pissed off and almost did not buy it. But my purpose was to finally sample a dry El Dorado rum, which is almost impossible to find. Reluctantly, I bought it. Then I found out that it is no longer available and went for $92. Two other reviews here also mentioned that this one is better that the Port Morant Single Barrel. This one is from the Enmore distillery. So basically, I lucked out on my purchase. Well not quite when it comes to my tastes! This is a very good dry rum, but it just does not have the WOW factor for me. I cannot even describe the unique flavors. The best thing going for this rum is zero added sugar. By the way, EHP represents the initials of the founder of the Enmore sugar refinery. The main selling point for this rum is that it comes from the last distillery of it's kind in the world. I will let you figure out why more distilleries like this one were not made.

Was excited to find this bottle but was let down with the low 40% abv and thw watered down taste it made up for it with a lingering caramel taste that continued on the palette. Would be an 8 if it were 50% abv i would wager

Do not mix this. Such a great sipper and a surprisingly dry Demerara. Raisins and molasses and a nice hint of both on the nose. Also I seem detect a bit of chocolate. Take the 12, 15 and 21 year El Dorado you know and envision them dryer and a much less sweeter and voila. A pleasure to sip.

I only drink aged rums neat. This is my first review. Let it breath. First sip minor burn but finishes smooth. Great daily drink reasonably priced.

Itโ€™s truly amazing, like 12 but better, if you donโ€™t like 12 then you donโ€™t like things that taste good! Look, I love dry rums too like Foursquare and Hamilton, but I can enjoy...BOTH, what a novel idea!!! Iโ€™m no expert but I know this is a great sipper, sweet but balanced, a long fruity, raisin, molasses finish.

Bon rhum. Facile a boire. Assez rond sur le caramel. On en voudrait plus

A very fine El Dorado, knowing the 12, 15 and 21 years old I had some expectations of spices and sweetness. To some extend you will find some spices, butterscotch, vanilla and oaks aromas but once you taste the sweetness is confirmed but without the over-sweetness that sometimes occurs.
After waiting you get some more banana and fruit to it, and some hints of coffee and leather that are really enjoyable.
For the story, the distillation happens in the Wooden Continuous Coffey Still famous to enmore...
Try it out!
