Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Auf der süßen Seite, etwas unruhig , aber durchaus trinkbar.

On the sweet side, a little restless , but quite drinkable.

Tried as a sipping rum, found it bitter and harsh. Had to mix.

A good rum, tasty, sweet but not so, well balanced with some caractere.

First sniff gives a nice citrus scent with hints of oak barrel bourbon nose. The taste definitely gives out the barrel aging, but the smoothness is lacking from an 8-year aged rum. If not for the "burn" I would probably have made this an 8.
Some sweetness in the aftertaste with a hint of caramel and vanilla. I prefer sipping rum so never mix so I can only say, a decent sipper with decent taste. I will buy again.

For the price inham much better rums. Though everybody’s taste is different of course.

Smooth, tasty, dry... exactly how I like it. Notes od demerara sugar, dark chocolate and wood. A little bit on the sweeter side but nothing overwhelming. The taste lingers on the tongue for a long time. Even the empty glass smells really nice.

I would give this inexpensive rum a rating of 8.5 if I could . Such a great value for the price.

Travasato in altra bottiglia, come faccio spesso.

The aroma in the beginning was a little bit sharper but also sweet and woody. The first sip was a bit burning in the throat but not from the second on. Little bit more whiskey-like but still nice and fruity. The woody flavor in it is just delicious. And In the cola it’s Just fantastic. give it an 8.

In the glass I get scents of oak, vanilla and caramel or toffee.
In the mouth I get sweet fruits but I cant put my finger on what exactly. Also caramel with a hint of Vanilla that blends to oak and spice. The flavors linger for a while. Overall I enjoy this but I do like a bit of sweet. And this definitely has some sweetness.
