Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Better than expected. A nice combo of Anglo/Spanish rum.
Got back from a tiki weekender and thought tasting a sweeter rum would be a good transition from all the sweet cocktails. The rum was better than my thought process…
Definitely sweet on the nose with notes of brown sugar.
Upon tasting, it is still sweet with of raisin/date flavor. Sweeter than I prefer but goes down easy.
I tasted this rum after some research. One of the best rums ever. I love how it feels so leafy-green-muddy- oak and fruity at the same time! Just like how it feels, smooth and a little spices at the end. Wow!!!
Easy and smooth. Lacking the complexity of some other rums at similar price points but a solid choice that's readily available.
Lots of spice on the nose, along with honey and maybe some floral/heather notes? Almost reminiscent of a light highland scotch. Surprisingly sharp on entry to the tongue for a 40% ABV, but mellows out to lots of sweetness and some bitter burnt sugar notes and dried fruit. Finish is fairly dry but surprisingly long, with some further development of the late entering flavors. A good entry point for rums worth enjoying on their own neat.
Easy sipper but a bit boring to be honest. Its ok but no my taste at all, flat and boring. I will not buy this again.
Quite nice and well balanced. Some sweetness, a little vanilla oak.
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar...

It's not a bad rum, it's authoritative. But it's a bit spirituous for my taste.
