Rich, complex inviting smell
Weird kiddie boiled sweet taste. Kinda synthetic. Pungent. Lingering finish.
Potent taste, dominates a caprinha or a mojito.
This was my first rum buy. Liked it enough to keep going, and explore more, but coming back to it now, it's no longer my thing. I prefer Diplomatico Planas as a mixer. Has made me want to try other cachaca though, and grateful for the doorway that started it all
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The Avua Amburana Cachaca had been my favorite cachaca up to this point. This one is also rested in amburana wood casks, but they call it umburana here. I looked this up and they are basically the same, Brazilian cherry wood.
This Germana version is much lighter and smoother than the one from Avua. Both can be sipped neat, served on the rocks, made into caipirinhas, or mixed into cocktails limited only by one's imagination. In a caipirinha, the taste of this cachaca barely comes through, but one knows that it is present. Sipping this one neat could be an inspiration for those who want to use this as a gateway to aged rhum agricoles from Martinique.
I rate this as a high 7 and almost an 8.
Update November 22, 2022: I have no choice except to lower my rating to something that I would never buy again. Why? After two bottles of this very tasty cachaca, it has been without a doubt the cause of my dry heaves the next day. Therefore, at this low price, I can declare this one as an industrial cachaca disguised by amburana cask aging.
