My expectations was not very high about this one but it is very solid rum. Similiar sweetness like diplomatico or legendario. Smooth with flavours of vanilla, honey and caramel. If you like sweet rums this is good and cheap choice.

En rom med en god smag, men som ogsΓ₯ er meget skarp. En smule is gΓΈr den endnu bedre.

Surprisingly sweet for a near blanco. It has little color, but a lot off favor.

It's like looking a gift horse in the mouth! We know it's more than 3 but less than 7. Anejo is about five but the Cuban barmaid said suave as if it meant younger, but it might just be smoother! What the hell, it's a real nice Cuban rum!

In expensive Cuban rum and yet decent straight, so perfect for a home bar standard. Wish we could buy Ron Cubay here in Canada

Sampled the Ron Cubay selection at their stall at Rum Festival Cardiff on the weekend.

Traditional Cuban style golden rum aged 7 years (I guess it's trying to compete with the Havana Club Range). It's dark with strong molasses on the nose, theres leather and smoke too, and lots of sweet vanilla. It's sweet and spicy in the mouth and uyou can really taste that vanilla. Drinkable neat, better over ice, even better mixed with cola. Definite competition to Havana Club 7

This one is a bit more delicate cousin of Havana Club 3y, with which it shares the pronounced tobacco notes, white oak and leather taste, but the taste profile is much smoother than HC3, mellowed by the added cane sugar, with hints of tropical fruits and a bit of vanilla. Decent Cuban mixer and good value for money. If you are into Cuban rums as I am, you can try to sip it, there is some alcohol burn, but nothing an adult could not survive.

The Cubay Anejo Suave is an excellent choice for a Cuba Libre for it's smoothness. Even better than the Havanna Club Anejo.

Classic Cuban rum, exported only since a few years. Mild and spicy with reduced alcohol. Good for mixing. Ideally "a lo Cubano" with just a drop of Coke and lots of lime.

Very good for the money. Nothing complicated, suitable for mixing or having just one or two shots straight. Good to give to drunk friends who want to have some rum after 10 beers or something and you really dont want to waste the more expensive stuff ;)
