Excellent mixer. I like the Diplomatico reserve blanco (no longer made), but Botran has a little less strong alcohol burn and a little more sweetness. (for me a little too sweet). Not very present in the nose, as we expect from a white rum, but with nice flavors of some vanilla, wood and fruit.
I find this to be a wonderful rum for mixing. It's fairly mild, and blends well with other flavors when used in a background role, but unlike most basic white rums the flavor that it does have is good enough to make spirit-forward drinks work. Can be consumed straight, but it's not terribly interesting.
A great easy white rum. The key word here is subtle. Subtle smokey aroma from the aging barrels I assume. Taste begins sweet, but ends quick with a bitter nutmeg/cacao aftertaste and flash of coconut in the middle. Would be great for mixing, but not quite for sipping.
40% ABV. This rum was smooth and slightly sweet. Almost no hint of off-putting alcohol aroma. Maybe the slightest bit of coconut. Not too different from the Real McCoy 3, though I'd choose the latter any day :)

Update 12/17 - The Dec. 23 box in the 2017 DbtD rum advent calendar. Dreaming of a "white" Christmas, are we?
Delicate nose. Coconut and tropical fruits. Palate: bubblegum, cherries, vanilla, caramel. Hint of brine. Short in flavor, short in finish. Recommended for those choosing between this and Bacardi (no contest), or those wanting a very mild white rum with hints of fruit.

Wow this does not deserve to be in a bottle ... It should power a car as petrol ... Horrible from start to finish
If you’re looking for an inexpensive silver, this is a very good choice. Smooth and no burn when drinking neat. Used it in Mojitos and is a great compliment to the mint and sugar - no complaints.
I bought this rum in the airport of Valetta, Malta. The price was so low 13-16 eur per litre. Long story short... its amazing rum for its price. Its very fresh, aromatic scent. In my opinion Cuba libre option is good enough. I regret that i only bought two litres of this Guatemalan rum.
Notes of vanilla are overtaken by white grape and hints of pineapple.
"Pretty dry and spicy when taken neat. The sweetness on the nose is quickly over taken by the spiciness of the oak. The finish is very short."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A good one to have on the shelf. Mixes well with everything, and makes a wonderful daiquiri. When I don't want to mix the more expensive Cana Brava, I reach for this one.
