I understand that SeaDog is not premium rum but on other hand it doesnt deserve 4.0 note if compared to Bacardi carta negra. Long story short as someone said it is a bit of hit and miss. Definitely worth trying for its low price. Sugar cane, dark, strong, jamaican...
This is the first dark rum I ever tried many years ago, mixed with blackcurrant cordial as was the fashion at the time.
After 4 or 5 of these "rum and blacks" one misspent weekend afternoon my young stomach began to feel at odds with the overwhelming aromas of molasses and engine oil and the sickly sweetness of the blackcurrant. "I know" I thought to my self with a foolish youthful arrogance, "a lasagne will sort me right out" (the mutton lane Inn was known for their hearty lunches) Halfway through this tremendously greasy plate of cheese, beef and pasta in a rich tomato sauce I realised I had made a grave mistake.
The colour drained from my cheeks and I began to feel dizzy. My stomach churned, cold beads of sweat formed on my brow and the room began to spin as I looked for a way out. Up the stairs to the bathroom was the best i could do, just in time. One cubicle, ENGAGED! Oh no, no time to think. Just projectile pink seadog smelling vomit all over the sparkling clean white tiled floor and walls of the upstairs bathroom of the mutton lane Inn. It went everywhere. I tried to mop it up with some towels but there was too much, I was just spreading it around making it worse. Someone walked in, I looked them in the eye, they turned on their heel and went straight back out. I rinsed myself off quickly at the sink, turned around and surveyed the carnage (it really was everywhere) before heading back downstairs and calmly suggested we should get the bill and leave straight away and that's what we did and I haven't told anybody about what happened that day until now and I never drank seadog again. Thanks.
This is a totally under rated rum, more so as adulterated rums seem to be the norm now. Why any producer would add spice or anything else to a beautiful creation is beyond me. If the drinker is a bit delicate by all means …..
Warning this Rum is very dark. Make sure not to wear white clothing.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Was surprised to find a good rum in Ireland but I did. Taken neat, this dark rum from Jamaica had an excellent finish and smooth taste. Unfortunately not available in Canada.
