I thought I’d buy myself something nice for my birthday by spending about $35-40 on a bottle of this stuff and I absolutely hated it!!
Lots of pastry kitchen spice and flavor here. It's tasty, but like a pastry.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The seven natural spices infused into this rum are listed on the back of the bottle: whole vanilla bean, shredded coconut, orange peel, ginger, nutmeg, black pepper, and cinnamon. And damn if you can't pick up every. single. one of these on the nose. On the nose, this has to be my 2nd favorite next to the Koloa. I see some variation from bottle to bottle - even have one with 'pulp inside! While the blend of spices is noticeable from the first sip, the black pepper dominates with the alcohol heat on the back end. Nonetheless, this makes for an interesting and enjoyable - if young - rum. Drinks well neat (with the caveat of the heat), but hides too well IMO in mai tai mixes, and ideally should be cut with a white rum (which makes it last twice as long!). Surprisingly, didn't cut well with just pineapple juice. Still recommend for fans of spiced rums. A solid 8-8.5.
