Not a big fan of flavoured rums as they have always been too fake tasting and bad rum. Because of that I have made my own vanilla rum and coconut rum using a good Barbados white but have always stayed away from pineapple due to its propensity of the pineapple also starting to ferment. This is the best pineapple rum I can find. It is made with a dark Barbados rum which does not have a lot of the adulteration that other rums have.
If you are looking for a sweet concoction this is not your rum. If you want rum with a hint of pineapple this is for you.
This is nice. Sweet enough and coming from whisky I can a bit detect the faint peat note in the back. This makes for an amazing sipping rum at the price point of 20 EUR here.
VRHUNSKA KOMBINACIJA Z DODATKOM... PRIPOROČAM VSEM LJUBITELJEM ANANASA
Absolutely amazing pineapple orgasm in this one. Not too juicy and not too sweet, best rum in my house.
Normally i don't like flavoured rums but this is beautiful. It's not at all oversweet or cloying.Drink it neat.
I did this completely backwards. I tried the Stiggin's Smoky formula first and was extremely disappointed (I really have to stop listening to "Limited" release marketing labels). Thankfully, I was able to try this at a local tasting. These two bottles couldn't be farther apart. I don't need to ramble too much, since there are already so many reviews, so just going to say wow and leave it at that.
Never disappoints, sweet, to the point, easy to understand
This is a really good rum, it is one of my favorites. Even though this is a "Pineapple" rum, the pineapple flavor is not dominant. It is rather like a good dark rum with a very subtle flavoring.
Tasted at Laka Lono on June 27, 2021 as my 50th rum in the Kill Devil Rum Club, woot!
Served by TommyDux.
Kind of hot, and I'm not sure I actually taste pineapple, but this is a solid rum. Original notes give it a 4+ out of 5.
Edit: tasted at Mitch e Amaro in North KC during Lei Away September 1 2023
Appearance: kind of a weird amber
Aroma: butter rum and pineapple
Flavor: so delicious, pineapple goodness
The nose is sweet but not overly so.
"Smells very much of fresh pineapple as opposed to sweetened tinned pineapple."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Bought a case last summer while in NYC for a short vacation. A lot of expectations after following and reading on the birth, or re-birth I should say of the Pineapple Rum. And it does not disappoint.
It is like mentioned elsewhere a lot more rum forward than pineapple. The nose is classic aged rum full of spices and toffee, with at first a quite subtle pineapple rinds note. Taste is generous. Compared to the Original Dark which it it is based on, this a lot longer, with the pineapple giving it a delicious round buttery finish. And then the pineapple just grows on you. Letting it breath will unleash the pineapple in a luscious way.
My friend and I each drank a bottle while in NYC, roaming around with our flasks filled up with it. I mixes incredably well, in lattes for breakfast, and especially with the local Lime Rickey, for of safe street sipping new classic drink: The Pineapple Rickey.
Not sipping the stuff all day was the toughest thing returning back home after this short vacation. You live in the US? Consider yourself blessed and seek it. Great folks at Ferrand/ Plantation are currently concocting a new batch of 50K+ bottles so hopefully it will become more widely available. Unfortunately it won't be available here in Quebec for 2016.
Thank you Plantation!
