Tried this 60% party animal at a rum festival and among the numerous rums tried, this is the only bottle I brought home. The cask strength rums from this very talented company, are made specially for Denmark, and there's only 365 bottles available. What you get is an excellent and very powerful rum, at great value. The nose is delicious, with lush sweet notes of baked banana, nuts, chocolate, cinnamon and thick caramel. The palette is a very thick, intense version of the same notes found in the nose. Despite the power and dryness of the 60%, it's very drinkable and among the most enjoyable rums I've had. It's closing in on a 10, but lacks the final finesse on the finish to do so. At this price point though, that's absolutely no concern.

Good nose, strong taste. Not the Best of CDI, but it is good.

Beautiful aromatic nose of sweet spices and empyreumatic aromas. Vanilla, coffee, toffee, salted caramel butter with hints of citrus fruits.

Round velvety mouth. Very luscious texture, perfectly balanced with well integrated wood flavors. Sweet rum but better made and more interesting than all latin-american wines ...

Its like drinking silk !

A fruity smell, light sweet touch of sugar, some vanilla. The taste is spicy, light sweet and fruity, quite nice.

The Compagnie des Indes Panama 11 years is a molasses rum from an unnamed distillery. The rum distilled from molasses was bottled with 61.2% alcohol in cask strength without additives, dyes ubd filtration.

The rum is restrained and discreet in the nose. The first thing I find is tasty caramel notes. Toffee and a nutty aromas. The rum is not woody. It all seems compressed and some water might help. On the palate, the rum comes pleasantly sweet with lots of caramel, vanilla and light roasted aromas. The alcohol warms and is not heavy on the tongue. At the finish comes more wood influence. Tannins spread and remain in the mouth. A slight floral note is there too. Dry bitter substances stay in the mouth for a long time.

The C.D.I. Panama 11 years is a dry rum, with a a goo clear sweetness. Despite its cask strength, it can be drunk pleasantly without becoming too complex. Classic Panama without a special touch, which can be remembered.

Der C.D.I.

not a very good rum, not very bad rum. but its the thing with sugar in the rum. i dislike it, maybe other ones like it. the taste is powerful. caramell. thick. oily. dark chocolate. raisins. a pleasure for the "half dry" drinker!
