This is a fantastic value rum. Although it’s a young rum, it’s still tasty. The 7 has a better finish, but if you don’t want to pay for the 7, the 4 is a great substitute.
Tasted at Laka Lono on 8/29/18. The best descriptors that come to mind are kerosene and burned toast. Best thing I have to say is that these are inexpensive.
Re-tasted on 6/27/21. Mild caramel aroma. Thin. Mildly sweet. You have to hunt for a flavor. Mildness is the operative word. perhaps nothingness? Score goes from a 3 to a 2.
This is my first experience with Flor products. I like it a lot. It has a slight sweetness that goes good with Coke Zero or even Tonic. Bought a 1.75L for under $30. I'm sure that I'll try their "better" rums in the future.
The rich vanilla rum flavor cut through Coke like a knife. Really enjoyed the rum forward profile. A must try.
I bought this, because I really like their 7 years version, I said "what difference can 3 years make?" BIG difference, I only drink rum on the rocks, this was a BIG NO! sorry but couldn´t finish my drink. Will go back to the 7 años
Being honest - I'm just beginning a journey into the rum universe. Picked up this bottle after looking at reviews (and price). I'm enjoying it with Coke and by itself. A very good start.
It's clearly a step above Bacardi for a general "aged Spanish-style rum," and for not too bad a price hike either. Great in a mixer and stands on its own well enough.
I made a Mai Tai with this today. What can I say? Delicious. And it's $20. I don't drink spirits neat, so I can't speak for that quality, but as a mixer, it's superb.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I’m giving it an 8 only if I were to compare it to rums of a similar like. Most of the rums I have rated on this site are aged many years, however this rum has an outstanding capability to mix with other juicies, sodas, self-made syrups, among others. It turns your cocktail to the sweet side but it will keep its distinctiveness.
