These SC 2004 is a special one for me. The cardboard box mention a 2009 but it's an error, it's a real 2004. This bottle should be a collector one but I decide to open it with my brotherhood of rum for our first tasting event with 7 other Single Cask New Grove.
Beautiful mahogany color. On the nose, we discover a very complex rum with exotic fruits but also white fruits, apple, pear. But also grape and plum. Citrus fruits are also present (lemon) and notes of wet undergrowth after the rain. Over time, it opens up more and more and the definition of aromas becomes more and more difficult. In the mouth, the exotic fruits come back in strength with the spices that arrive and gives warmth and body. It lines well the mouth. The notes of caramel, toffee, chocolate arrive with time. The end is moderately long and spices like nutmeg, pepper sharing with licorice a final interesting.

Den smager som en meget ung rom, den er tydelig skarp i munden.
Det er lidt flad og den forsvinder hurtigt i munden

Didn't expect much, but this is a truly great glass of rum. To me the main notes are apricot and cocoa. The high alcohol percentage gives the rum a lot of power, which it has no problems justifying.

Very nice complexed taste. The first sip tasted almost like a whiskey but just a few moment laters the rhum pops in.

It reminds me of apricot or peach as an after-taste. Really like it.
