Oliver's Exquisito 1985 Solera

Is it just because what I know about it? Like I know it is clearly the most expensive rum I ever tasted and also has a perfect color in an awesome looking bottle. Am I having the impression of the best taste because of these? I don't think so. I tasted it against my 9-pointer rums and it is ... better. I am pretty sure there must exist rums even above this. But I must give 10 to the best I tasted so far. Maybe I will never taste anything better, maybe I will. 10 points is still just a range. Are there even better rums than this one? Maybe. Are there rums that are so much better that they require a range above this? I doubt.

Oh and what about its taste? How does it taste?
Oh It is just a round, neutral rum. Nothing special ... Just f'n perfect.

I already wrote perfect for the 1990 version. This is also perfect, but a bit more. Perfecter (somewhere a native English speaker breathes heavily).
Raisins on the nose, chocolate and bourbon vanilla in the taste. Only the bottle has a disatvantage: it's already empty.

A fantastic rum, woody and slightly spicy on the nose, full bodied but pleasant on the palate with hints of fruit. For me, born in 1985 (+ 1 point for this), the perfect gift to recive. Excellent value for money

A friend on a business trip in eastern Europe brought me a bottle of this about 3 years ago. I enjoyed it so much I kept the empty bottle.... didn't realize until I looked here that it is actually a Dominican Rum so that explains my affinity to the taste. All solera rums are not great, but this one is.

Ano je to on. Každý na baru se mě vždy ptal : který je ten nejlepší pro Tebe ? A já jim vždy říkal: Martin Vambera z Rumaka mi dal ochutnat 1985 a já si ho hned vzal. Je to velmi skvělý rum plný a ucelený. Nasládlá chuť, plná harmonií karibského podnebí. Oříšky, květinky, čokoláda a hlavně láska :-)

Great taste. It is sweet, but not to sweet. Good value for the money

Such a delite.... sweet good complex rum... on og my absolut favorites

Has a perfectly balanced taste and aroma, with some caramel and hiding cocoa. Fruityness in the nose after. Really smooth, simply great!

My favorite rum so far. Beautiful dark color, a great oak taste and a great balance between sweetness and a good burn.
