Standing ovation... this rum is delicate, smooth, sweet, flavorful, maks you try to find all flavors inside.. give it a sip when open.. let it rest for a few minutes and try it again.. and later pour a little bit of water or a small ice and it will continue toi amaze you

Deep flavors, 1997 edition is the best of all 3 Single Vintages. You can smell the sherry right away.

Nose is soft and balanced. Aromas of caramel, vanilla and some sweet fruit maybe figs? Plus weak notes of sherry. Really inviting!
Taste is: soft as velvet, without being sweet. You can taste the figs, oak and weak sherry. The aftertaste is long and dry! So long!
Incredible balance!
I am a fan of the series in generel (especially S.V.2000), but this one is special. Its another level, in many ways it reminds me of one of my all time favourite rums. Ron Zacapa - Straight from the cask.

BEST rum i ever drink. It started 2 years ago with SV2001 bottle. Then I bought few SV2000. Both beautiful. But 1997 is really the best of them. I bought 7 bottles in last year as an "investment". Wrong choice. 2 already sadly gone :-). With more to go….
But it’s definitely worth it.

I just don't have the courage to open another bottle of this gem. This vintage edition is awesome, super smooth, warm tale and on the sweet side, cherry is definitely there but that's the reason you can drink this with practically anyone even my grandma loved it. But thinking back, I could give my grandma something else :)))

Diplomático Single Vintage es elaborado a partir de una delicada selección de reservas exclusivas de ron, provenientes del año declarado en cada edición. Los rones se destilan por separado en alambiques de cobre y en Batch Kettle, proporcionándole un carácter excepcional. Posteriormente son envejecidos durante doce años en barricas que sirvieron para el añejamiento de bourbon y whisky de malta. Después del proceso de envejecimiento, el Maestro Ronero ensambla el ron en proporciones variables, procurando obtener la estructura, el cuerpo, la personalidad, los sabores y los aromas que busca. Por último, el ron se transfiere a barricas de jerez español que le aportan un acabado perfecto.
