Plantation XO 20th Anniversary (old bottle)

Ein sehr komplexer Tropfen, welcher bei jedem weiteren Genuss neue Facetten aufzeigt und ein wirklicher Genuss ist. Der Rum ist ein Blend und beinhaltet immer Rum mit einem Mindestalter von 12 Jahren. Nur bereits für diese Tatsache ist dieser Preis unschlagbar! Nun zum Tasting:

Schon beim Öffnen steigen einem Gerüche in die Nase, welche Begeisterung beim Kenner auslösen. Man schmeckt stark die Banane, Kokosnuss und Vanille heraus, welche wunderbar zu einem edlen Getränk vereint wurden.

Ein Muss in jeder Hausbar, ihr werdet begeistert sein!

Complexity of aged rum, perfect balance of tastes plus coconut flavor. Especially coconut is the taste that makes this rum so different. For me nr. 1.

This rum is enjoyable by everyone. So many different flavors and smooth like silk. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

This one is silky smooth from start to finish - there is no unpleasant burn, just gentle velvety ending, just the way I like it. It is also quite sweet, I can feel vanilla, caramel and perhaps even coconut accents. This rum convinced me to go and give rums a chance.

Simplesmente fantástico, seco ou só com uma pedra de gelo.

Dieser Rum ist einfach perfekt. Er schmeckt mild und verwöhnt einfach den Geschmacksinn.

This is nice to drink neat, even if u never has do so. The wood of this one is special, the first finish add complexity the second, the French oak, a pleassant white pepper like finish, wich is not as powerful as American oak. That combination makes this rum a smooth flavorful journey including coconut, nutmeg and some sweet taste !

I have tried quite some rums, I have done several bigger rum tastings, I do compare rums just for fun during evenings, if the atmosphere is right and still this one never let me down. It is so full of aromas, nosing is extremely pleasant, taste is smooth, there is such a nice feeling in the throat and the the warmth... its the best Plantation for me and the best rum overall!

Note: I did not want to rate 10, but it serves me as a fixed standard to rate other rums... and I look forward to the moment, when I will find a new standard or at least a brother for the 10 rating.

Beautiful flavor leaving the mouth feeling sweet. Smooth and sharp at the same time, with hints of tropical fruits accenting the almost dessert-like taste.
