Malahat Spiced rum, a naturally spiced version of the base used in their Malahat Rum that’s bottled at 80 proof.via American Rum Report
This is an o.k. spiced rum. Has a lot of interesting spice smell, but it tastes artificial and there isn't much of a rum flavor to it. The spice blend is interesting, and I like it. I just miss any hint of actual rum.
Smells and tastes of butterscotch, and lots of spices that I can't identify. That part is ok. But I miss the rum flavor. As I said in the title, this is just an average spiced rum.
There was an (appreciated) attempt at exotic spice here. I detected cardamom, which I like, but just didn't work here for me. Could not finish this.
Enjoyed a bottle of Malahat Spiced while in Los Angeles. Pretty nice bottle and label design. Reasonably priced at $22. Golden color. Plethora of spices to your nose and palate mixed with very young rum flavors. Nasty burn at the end. Not a neat sipper by any means. Very mediocre spiced rum.
