This is some wonderfully, powerfull stuff. Though I would always apreciate a glass of this, I find most other velier rums to have a slightly better character. The nose of this rum is intensely fruity. The palate is explosive and has that unmistakable mineralised demerara character. It's big bodied with notes of licorice and lovely tropical fruits. Not bad at all.

This is without doubt an interesting rum to taste. Has a lot of kick in it, but I find other Veliers more interesting when it comes to depth and character! But dont get me wrong this is still good :-) 8/10

tmavě hnědá
- vůně velejemná, hutná, hlavně mléčná čokoláda a marcipán, kokos
- chuť jemná, procenta jemné, ale 1981 Velier Diamond, dřevitá, čokoládová
Pro mne větší pecka než Velier 1981 Diamond ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great and intensive nose, very rich. Little bit musty first (disappears after 30min and gets overlapped by flowery notes). The sweetness of caramel is concentrated and is between the aromas of honey, dry fruits and oak. The herbs or should I say grasy notes are developing. There is also some orange zest with the tasty smell of the woody still (it’s typical Enmore style). After 15min the rum turns very flowery and this aromas are rising. After 30min the flowers turns into lipstick, these aromas are just explodes in the glas.

The taste starts very flowery, a little bit sweet and dry, the flowers are just explodes and turns into lipstick. Then I get immediately the orange zest with wood varnish,
also the Enmore wood with honey notes and some grains. This is a complex rum, it’s already clear in the initial tatste.
In the middle is more of the orange zest with some anise, then again wood varnish, grains and the typical wood.
At the end are again the flowery notes. The finish is a little bit spicy, it starts flowery with orange zest, wood varnish, grains and the lipstick notes.

The nose blows me away, it’s a very intensive smell. Very rich, very aromatic. The tatste is very complex, also flowery with aromas that you can find only in tropical aged high end rums.
It goes in the direction of ElD SVW 1998, but is even more complex and richer in aromas.
Compared to other rums: SVW 1996 > ElD SVW 1998 > ElD Diamond SVW/PM 2001
