Nice spice rum to mix with. Usually my go to when I want to drink a spiced rum and coke.
This is better than average. Nice spiced rum. Nose is nothing special. Taste is much better and more complex that your standard Captain or Admiral mass production rums. At over 42% it isn't dummed down for mass production eithwer. Unlike Bacardi and those others it has a soul. it has a bite. I has some decent mouth feel. It will mix very well. I prefer it's darker brothe Chic Choc dark spiced. But both are good.
This rum is a great mixer and can be sipped in pinch. I would like a little more complexity to give it a better grade.
This is another sweet/spicy one. It has hints of mint or wintergreen in it, rather than the usual pumpkin pie blend of other spiced rums. It makes me think of a pine forest, so maybe there's some of that as well.
Too sweet for me, so I shant buy it again - 3 points knocked off for the sugar.
I'd take it over Sailor Jerry, which I think may be even sweeter, and nothing terribly special in the spice dept.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Sugar: 43 gpl. Made in Canada and unique to say the least. Reddish in color, thick and sweet with a wonderful bouquet. It smells like an aged rum with a hint of oak, but the other aromas in it are hard to describe. I suggest that you look up the spice list that is printed on the back label, which is a first as I am not aware of any other spiced rum listing the ingredients. Lovage Root, Wild Angelica, Whiterod Berries, and more. Apparently these are known as Nordic Spices, would explain tastes of Alpenbitter and Jagermeister. It is quite sweet but I use one ice cube to reduce the sweetness.
Some will find this to be a bit medicinal and there is some comparison to Drambuie, but it very smooth with no harsh burn, and goes down quite easy. In the category of spiced rums you will love or hate this one. One thing is for sure it is unique.
