When you think Bronx, you don't think rum and it should stay that way

There is a reason the Bronx hasn't distilled liquor since Prohibition. If I'm not mistaken, the producers of this rum typically make whiskey, otherwise I wouldn't be able to explain the harsh smoky taste of Tirado rum.
The bottle is not pretty either; most rums, have a bottle that represents the rum's history, country of origin or otherwise. The Tirado bottle looks like a large reused Red Devil hot sauce bottle with a stamped white sticker placed sloppily on the front; guess they'd call that a label.
Tirado is dark, harsh, smoky (not in a nice way), and strong. It didn't cost me much, but you should just stay away, unless you like the taste of Newport cigarettes in your mouth. I'm not a smoker, but to each their own.
