An excellent tasting rum. Hints of dark chocolate but very subtle and cam be enjoyed on its own. Highly recommend!

The first time I had this I was totally blown away. So smooth. Lovely light tan colour and smooth sweet taste. One of my Special Occasion Rums 👍👍

Aroma: Oproti 12 yo verzi výrazně bohatší aroma, stále však svým způsobem jemné a uhlazené. Cedr, trocha kokosu, med, mléčná čokoláda, v závěru badyánová větrovost. Nic brutálního, krásně zakulacená vůně. (88 b)
Chuť: Překvapil výraznou suchostí, z vůně jsem nabyl dojmu, že by mohl být nasládlý. Není. Kakao, čokoláda, anýz, exotická dřevitost, cedr (ten mívám v poznámkách u Panamy často). (87 b)
Body: 84
Shrnutí: Přímo srovnáván s dvanáctiletou verzí. Osmnáctka je výrazně lepší, než dvanáctka, ale také přiměřeně dražší.

At first this one is strong. Wooden, smokey all kind of what you expect of an old solid rum. If you like and sweet and easy this is not the right one. If you like it a bit layed down with a wooden attidude this one will get you. Experienced but also kind of smooth.

Im Geruch Birne, Holz und Alkohol.
Im Geschmack Ananas, Birne, Früchte, Kakao, Zuckerrohr, ein wenig Süße, Alkohol und Holznote, ein ganz klein wenig herb.
Im Abgang Kakao, Holznote, Alkohol und am Ende bleibt ein Geschmack von Ananas- Birne im Mund für lange Zeit.
Fazit:
Ein Rum mit einer leichten Süße. Kein brennender Rum, eher auf der milden Seite.
Ein wenig Atmen lassen. Dieser Rum erschließt sich erst
einem nach einer geraumen Zeit, man muss sich Zeit nehmen.
Langer Abgang, gefällt mir gut und wenn der Preis stimmt macht man hier absolut nichts falsch.

Einer meiner Favoriten, wird nachgekauft !

very worthy rum. Tidy, tasty. More interesting that Flor de Cana 18.

Al naso si sente subito profumo di vaniglia e legno affumicato, al palato si percepisce ancora l'affumicatura, tabacco e vaniglia.Peccato arrivi un po troppo l'alcool. Quello che mi piace di più è il finale molto lungo che lascia in bocca, un buon gusto di tacacco degno dei migliori sigari.

($60CAD) Color is a happy medium, not too dark, not too light. Smells of vanilla meet your nose.
Full mouth feel, with body on the tongue.
Nuts, fruits and brown sugar. There’s some oak but a strong dose of cola will reign supreme. Solid and clean. No weird tastes. Pure cane goodness.

This one is softer, more delicate than other Malecon offerings. Plenty of wood, hints of vanilla and chocolate. Nice sipper. Nice balance. Smooth finish.
