Un rhum fort sympathique, son côté fumé et fruité m'a plu, sans pour autant être très complexe.
J'en garde globalement un bon souvenir.
Díky sudu krásná barva a skvělá chuť. Ne tak uhlazeny jako XO, ale i tak velmi pitelny.
Smagt til romhattens romfestival 2019, den får en 5’er.
Bought as a gift for father-in-law's birthday, and surely a good choice it was. We drunk it neat, but I believe Black Barrel would do a great job as a mixer/on the rocks. However, as a personal choice, for neat drinking I'd rather spend a little more money and go for XO.
Never dissapoints me, for it's price this is a rum every lover shoukd have.
Very light without much depth. Slightly sweeter than regular Mt Gay and a bit smoother with one cube. Batrtender charged me for 1703 $25 for a short pour. I explained to her she didn’t serve me 1703 showed her the difference she just said that thats what we ring it at. So maybe it was a 7.
Røget på tungen, sød i duft og fyldig eftersmag. God til dem der normalt nyder whisky.
When I can find this is always keep a bottle of this around.
I prefer my rum to taste like rum and not whiskey/boubon. To me it just had too much of a whiskey taste for my liking.
The classic coconut on the nose. The taste is dry oaked coconut with a short pop of toffee, which quickly subsides. A tiny bit harsh in the alcohol for the proof, but still a very nice rum if you appreciate a "real" Barbados rum.
A nice balanced Bajan nose with a little extra spicy kick to it.
"Sipped the Black Barrel certainly gives some of the oaky notes of a bourbon but also makes the mouth water."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I'm guessing the only reason i've not bought this before is all the "tastes like Bourbon" comments on this rum. not being a Bourbon fan i was skeptical about my purchase.. well i was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely aroma of vanilla , oak , spices and either honey or fruit. Only slightly astringent and that disappeared in moments. Nice to sip , thankfully not much of the Bourbon taste present to spoil my enjoyment !
Mixes very well with a Fever Tree cola also.. Comes with a nice cork and not a cheap screw cap..
Another high quality Barbados rum , only just behind the XO in my opinion... don.t let the "Bourbon" comments put you off !!
