The Martinique Classic. On view, we can identify an agricole, by seeing an hot amber colour and a density tipical of vesou.
On taste, it is a youg rum but very full with a little bitterness and chestnut honey aroma and a pungent smell. It's a big distillate. The ratio quality/price is great!
according with me, the J.Bally Ambrè it the best RVM to enjoy on monday night soccer matches!
The only one weakness is the crown cap: a cork would have exaltend the hearing sense too.

Really like the value for money with this agricole. Actually a very nice sipping rhum with a lot going for it in the falvors department. Very close to a cognac to my novice taste buds and nose.

Just arrived to Spain after driving down from Sweden.
Made a few stops on the way to buy rum.
This is the first one I’ve opened.
Thought I should give J. Bally a second chance cause I wasn’t impressed by the 12yo when I tasted that, but it was one of my first AOC Agricole’s.
Know I’m quite sure that Bally isn’t for me.
This one have no deep taste. I can recognize grass, fruits, tobacco and oak, but it’s all weak. Instead the alcohol taste dominates. It was getting a little bit better when I let it rest a quite long time in the glass.
I think there’s much better Agricole Ambre out there.

Nice strong rum: cinnamon and vanilla nose, smooth sweet taste.

To my understanding the labling Ambré for Martinique rhum is a product based on young rhum, 18 month on barrel, seamingly with added molasses as a shortcut to more complex flavour and look.
This method of coloring is commonly used by many rum producers but the producers in Martinique clearly declare the shortcut and keep it as a separate product different from their fine aged rhum.

Based on above I rate this ambré a 5 in its segment. It is clean, strong and crisp but I will always have a problem with the unpleasant impure, fusel oil like flavour of young Martinique rhum.

It will probably go excellent well in a ti-punch eith plenty of fresh lime and brown sugar but is not for me enjoyed neat as I dont fancy the fusel-like impurity.

I go get s bottle of coke now and finish the bottle, it was not that bad...

Vass och spretigt.
Tycker att det var mer en Bourbon än en rom.
Visst det finns toner av vanilj, arrak, nougat men still not my cup of tea.

It will get you drunk, if you can stand the taste. My first and last bottle of this brand. Reminds me of the first and last time I bought a bottle of Calvados, my first thought was, i'm gonna get blind on this shit.

troppo secco per essere un agricolo e la componente alcolica 45° si sente troppo rapporto prezzo qualità negativo

It's not bad at all. it has a sort of "peated" flavour. Too dry and the 45° alcoholic component feels too much.

Smooth and delicious, may be not very complex, but pleasant taste. I like it a lot. Magnificent in ti punch. Looks like the bottle won't last for long )
