Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

There's really not much to this rum. Smells like a wet rock, but the taste includes a hint of sugarcane and vanilla. While it's certainly ok, there's a lot of better rums out there. You can easily drink this straight at 40%abv, but again there's a lot better.

Inherited the bottle from Bill’s stash. Pours clear. Not much aroma beyond that of a very slight whiff of sugar cookie. Thin palate which reveals exactly its proof. Only a suggestion of a PR rum in flavor with an upfront candy sweetness that rapidly departs into a mild tongue burn. This is a benchmark rum, and obviously The Bat is capable of much better, but all things considered- this might be the hardest working rum in show business.

This should not be considered a rum but an alcohol carrier for cocktails

This is pure cancer in a bottle. Tastes chemical even if you mix it with cola. To drink pure, it is completely worthless. Drink a few glasses of it, guaranteed headache.

This has a weird flavor to it that turns me off completely. I don't know how to describe it at all. I think this is more for people trying to drink to get drunk rather than to appreciate the flavor.

There was almost no subtle rum flavor, and no nose. It was light, smooth, and sweet. I can imagine this being used in a mixed drink where it sweetens the mix, but does not disturb the other flavors, sort of like a syrup with a kick. It was not interesting enough to use as a sipping rum.

Heavy alcohol taste, not too much complexity or flavor.

Why would you do this to people? What is wrong with you? I understand if this was used to punish criminals.

Judge: take a shot.
Perp: No! I'll do anything. I'll never rob again.
Judge: drink!
Perp: *drinks* I'll- never- ever *crying* rob again. Please don't make me drink more! I'm a changed person!

As white rum goes, this is the standard for high production rum. It’s a step up from most speed wells, but isn’t anything I would consider great.

Got a shot of Bacardi on transatlantic flight.
It's bit grassy and somehow salty. ...and nothing else except ethanol.

Not drinkable on its own. Can be mixed in cocktails but still not a lovely taste.
