Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

Este ron lo suelen dar aquí en México para las fiestas, definitivamente se tiene que mezclar con refresco, tiene mucho sabor a alcohol.

It works in cocktails if the point is for the rum to hide and support other ingredients. That is probably the style's purpose; to be the vodka of rum. Otherwise, there are better options for all other applications.

Bacardi Superior is perfectly fine in a number of cocktails, Cuba Libre, mojito, daiquiri, etc. Flavor-wise there's not a lot going on, it's a bit harsh, but it's far better than some of the super dosed rum liqueurs that claim to be a spirit. For a similar price point, Cruzan Light, The Real McCoy 3, Flor de Cana 4, and Plantation 3 are all superior white mixing rums.

I hate this rum, but not for the flavor. I hate it because it's the rum that made think I didn't like rum, so I didn't try any other rums for a decade and I will never forgive it for that. It probably deserves a 3 on drink-ability, but even in cocktails I don't really like this stuff. In most cases, I would probably rather drink a virgin daiquiri than one made with Bacardi silver. The only reason it doesn't get a 1 is because I know Malibu exists.

Bare bones basic rum used by bars to cut with water for highest profit margin.

Has intense alcohol flavour which has to be taken down with coctail mixtures

Tasted 2/27/22 at Laka Lono and I was glad this was 3/3.
This rum should be consumed with Coca Cola and only if you are trying to complete your rum tasting passport.
notes say: This rum smells like: light me on fire

To all the people giving it a 1 or 2, I believe you have this mistaken for the very similar appearing Bacardi Carta Blanca, which is actually just lawnmower fuel. Bacardi Superior is still chemical-tasting and still not the most pleasant sip, but it does have more flavor and is more drinkable than its wretched cousin. I've probably had a good mojito made with this at some point, so it's hard to hate. It's pretty hard to love too, unfortunately. On one frightening trip by plane, I thought this might be the last drink I ever would have the chance to enjoy, and even then, my feelings were still mixed, as I had the privilege to have rum as I thought my plane was going down, but still desired something better. On that flight, I had asked for some rum, and upon finding out it was Bacardi white, I only hoped it was this one and not Carta Blanca. I didn't have my payment saved for in-flight drinks so I couldn't buy one after all, and got a free tonic water instead. Twenty-something odd minutes later, the flight attendant handed me a mini bottle over my shoulder (pictured) and said "don't worry about it" in a rushed voice, then ran to the front to announce that we are about to experience "extreme turbulence" and that they were going to "deploy" something or other, and to "please not panic as this is not an emergency." It was the mildest turbulence ever but I thought I had a guardian angel to give me one last sip before I perished. Thankfully, my real guardian angel made sure this wasn't my last after all.
