80 proof. Sip test, no ice
Cola nose, cola empty glass linger. I find this to be an excellent mai tai dark mixer at this price point. Combine with Matusalem Clasico 1:1 for a great TV's mai tai rum combo.
Made in Kentucky (they know how to make booze), and not really a true pirate keg, but very tasty. I was at Sheraton Edge bar in Oahu, Mike served me a mai tai with another dark, then Whaler's. I decided Whaler's was the best taste, Try it!

It is an average rum and about right for the money. Maybe if the aging process got longer it would be a lot better.

This one was on sale for $9 so I figured I would give it a try. I prefer my rum straight up and this just isn't that good. Tried it on the rocks and that was better. My dad had to add so coke to his.

It's fairly smooth, a little sweet, tasty and dark. It's a very good rum. It's far from great but it's still fairly delicious. It's about the same as the regular Whalers, so if you like that, this isn't really a big upgrade. Either one is good enough to try.

I can smell a little anise before the fumes burn my nose a little. Tasted sweet, also with a light anise flavor before the burn. I haven't used it in a mixed drink yet, but tastes like it should go well with Coke.
