It's really not that good honestly. It's simple beyond words. Its 85% oaky 10% vanilla and some sugar and trace other things. The bottle is nice to have in the cabinet but really it's nothing special. Honestly buy 2 bottles of brugal anejo. They taste identical except brugal has a slight less oak flavour. Drinking this straight is alright. Slight burn but nothing bad. Honestly Brugal is made in Dominican Republic and so is this. It would be no surprise to me if this was made in the same place using the same formula as brugal just in a different cask. It might be slightly less smooth than brugal anejo. But for 20$ less I would take brugal. I also could just add sugar to my brugal and it would be this at a large cost savings. I give it 8/10 because it's drinkable straight and I like the oak flavor but it's still nothing flashy. It's just good, not great, not memorable. Just good. Much like that movie you saw a month ago that was "good" but not that memorable, what was it's name again?

Sweet fresh honey, cinammon, clove and beewax in the aroma, body start with sweet freshness booming to warming dark chocolate in the finish, touch of beewax in the body also.

I’ve paired this rum with cigars ranging from mild to full from multiple countries and every pairing has been a memorable experience. Smooth, right amount of sweetness, hints of vanilla, caramel and chocolate. Very cubanesque indeed. Anyone that appreciates rum and cigars will definitely enjoy the pairing.

3 is what i give to sweetened rums, this one also failed the hydrometer test !
i see people lowering points to good aged agricole rums just because they are agricole ...
lowering points for sweetened stuff have more sense to me !

Vizcaya VXOP 21 is a very nice experience. Smell of vanilla and a hint of chocolate. Long, delightful aftertaste that rolls around in the palate. Thank you, Vizcaya!

Absolutely smooth, a little ethanol hint disappears after few minutes of breathing.
Delicious, authentic taste which is hard to compare with anything else.
Aftertaste isn't that long but ok.
It's sweet, but definitely from sugar cane, not from added sugar.
I like that there's no any notes of the barrel - just pure rum.

Stop the War, drink rum instead!

barva : jantar
vune vanilka, sladkost
chut: sladka s vanilkou a lehce umělejší ale určitě neurazí
zaver : slabší s velmi rychlím vyprcháním chutí, druhý den si nebudete pamatovat v čem to bylo zajimave.

Stumbled upon this relatively "hidden" rum due to great Phil Chiricotti's "Millonario XO" review to which is this rum really very similar. This is a sweet rum full of flavour and very rounded, generally of very good taste but lacks anything truly specific inside (is "just" very good) and I'd probably 50/50 exchange it for Millonario that tastes similarly but feels stronger, more unique and little less sweet. Where this reviewed rum looses is definitely the smell where is none specific really. (Millonario XO smells awesomely after vanilla and some sweety fruit even hours after finishing an empty bottle.) Last but not least, I believe favourable price tag must be taken into account here and hence I rate it as 8/10 even though I find most of my 8/10 rated rums more characterish. (Eg. I like the taste more than Cihuatan Xaman which was even twice as expensive but no one can really mistake any toptier Cihuatan rum after smelling and testing even a little bottle.) This symhatic bottle simply did offer me more than most of the rums in its price range which is mediocre. In such price level I mostly struggle a bit to find something really fitting my taste. /Upgraded the rating by the end of the bottle, this is really such an easy sipper. Moreover my friends love it too (8,5/10).

This rum is not going to jump out at you. It is not going to scare you. Like smooth jazz, you can enjoy this premier sipping rum for hours and never feel like another round is a bad idea. Very hard to find, so when you do, buy a bottle!
