Sailor Jerry Spiced

Its not a bad rum but very simple. has a nice colour, smells on vanilla but the flavour is pretty average. Nice with a coke zero, lime and ice

Was recommended Salor jerry's by someone who's tastes generally align with mine but I have to say I was left disappointed.

For lower to mid price point / fa mixer I much prefer a bottle of Kraken.

Potentially spoiled by having recently levelled up to the Diplomatico and Dictator 20yo if the world, but i dont think ill be coming back for old mate Jerry. Even for a quick rum & coke.

the body is very strong we would recommend for mixing not sipping.

This rum works in certain cocktails to give some added depth and in a pinch can be used as a floater. The overall taste is fine but not very multidimensional and not terribly versatile. The finish is a bit burnt and as such I wouldn't recommend drinking it straight. I love all things tiki and this rum has a good backstory but I think the story is better than the rum in the bottle making it overrated for what it is.

Better than Captain and is good in a rum and coke.

Liquor.com calls this one of the best spiced rums. It ranks highly here as well, at least in popularity.
That said, I find it bland. I've had aged non-spiced rums with more character. Maybe I haven't tried enough other spiced rums to know the difference, but except for being reasonably priced, I can't see having this around on a regular basis.

Sure it's drinkable but nothing that really sets it apart from run of the mill rums.

I will preface by saying this is one of my go to rums for a good reason. I prefer rums with different flavor profiles that are dominant, and Sailor Jerry is what I use for anything I want a vanilla kick added to, my favorite being just orange juice. Makes a delicious dreamsicle. But I digress, if you want some vanilla added to whatever you are mixing, and you are trying to stay in a budget, this is always a reliable choice that I will continue to go back to!

Kind of a right of passage for UK based rum drinkers as they grow up and get into rum
