Lemon Hart Blackpool Spiced

Now this is a spiced rum! Finally, actual baking spices, and spicy pepper notes. Fantastic spiced rum. Lightly sweet, but not too sweet. I think I have found my favorite spiced rum.

Dark brown sugar sweetness, mild baking spices, vanilla. Warm, sweet, spices with long finish. Ok neat, will be great in a cocktail

Blackpool Lemon Hart & Sons Rum, need I say more?

Simply an excellent Guyana dark Rum with Demerara sugar, very hard to beat...

Start with nice spices like nutmeg… it finishes flat. No excitement for a spiced rum.

Great nose of vanilla and nutmeg, but flat taste a bit rancid finish. Not much burn only at end

I then turned this into a Rum Rickey and it was AMAZING
Flavor: anise, cinnamon, vanilla
Aroma: smoky but perhaps that's the Old Fashioned that someone else ordered

Out of the gate, I am not a big fan of spiced rum and know little about it, but have had some that I have liked. This, however, tasted like cough syrup straight and mixed, just a bit better.

Tasted at Laka Lono on 10/26/18. Pours as black as your soul. Dark sepia. Dough and chocolate aroma. Spiced cookies? Mild vanilla. Brown sugar. Cardamom. Roastedness. A rare delicious spiced rum entry.

A bold and flavorful spiced rum - this one easily outclasses other big brand offerings like Captain Morgan and Kraken in terms of depth of flavor. However, I found the base spirit to be much harsher than the other Lemon Hart expressions I’ve tried, and would even go so far as to say that this bottle is tougher to drink on it’s own than the 151. Further, I found the spiced version to have less complexity than the 151. A decent buy, but not something I’d ring for again given my preferences

A very pleasant rum that could easily be drunk straight. I'm looking forward to testing it out in some tiki cocktails.
