There are 10 teaspoons of added sugar in every liter of this stuff! It's overly sweet and sticky. More like a liqueur. Remember, rum is made from sugarcane but sugar does not pass through distillation and into the end spirit. It's sugar free. The flavor will come from other factors. The easy way is to load it with sugar and other additives. For quality rum, look elsewhere.
Liqueur-like, hyper sweetness, admittedly too much added sugar. Not pleasant. Caramel, candies, brown sugar. The sweetness is just too overwhelming. Why even are the rum-destilleries adding even a gram of sugar. It destroys the whole sense of rum production and the taste. Dont even think about buying a bottle of this. Cheers :3

Dufter sprittet og smager endnu mere sprittet. Den er meget svær at nyde..

Was given a bottle of this as a gift. While it was ok in flavor, it is very sweet. Upon research it is known for the sugar addition. Tasted like rum flavored syrup. I think it gets high rating due to the sweetness, but not the quality.

Not as dramatic as the title, but just doesn't work with my taste at all. Not a fan.

I was excited to try a dram as seing a lot of popularity over this one.
Very very, sweet aroma. Taste wise the flavour to me was strong amounts of honey.

Very disappointed with this, glad I tried my brothers bottle before buying one for myself. I’d read many reviews on this site and in most cases I agree with majority but in this case either peeps are drinking something different to me or they like sugary sweet rums. As one poster put it this is more like a sweet rum liquor rather than a good mid point rum. I expected some sweetness and something similar to el dorado 12, how wrong could I be, I found it neither enjoyable or pleasant, left most of it the glass. People obviously enjoy this rum and that’s what makes us all different and helps the world spin, but it’s a big no from me.
if this is a liquor i ll talk about it, but is a distillate with sugar (additives) added (41 grams per liter) ... sorry guys, i have it, it s famous (and we sell it a lot) but ... don t understand why so much people give high rating to this,
i love rum, whisky, cognac, brandy, fruit distillates, and i m sad to see what is happening to the rum world,
where so much so called premium brands tend to sugarize their products
and even guys who know this give 9 or 10 to such stuff !
it s ok for a liquor site but not for a rum site ! and it s a popular one that sells well so i have it but i don t appreciate it ! i can drink this with coke but with some fresh lime juice, don t like it even in a daiquiri (rum, sugar syrup and lime)
Nauseously sweet! Apparently, there are 40 grams of added sugar per liter in this, um, rum? liqueur? - and lots of other cloying additives like added vanilla. Also, the description above is wrong. This is not a 12-yr old rum, nor is it "aged...for on average 12 years". It is made from a blend of rums aged up to 12 years. Big difference.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"
via Inu A Kena
Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Overly sweet with added sugar. Its ok sipping rum for girls, but nothing "exclusive" for real.
