Undrinkable doesn't cover it - powerful alcohol notes followed by gagging sweetness. This is a drink you give to someone as a prank. Mixing is precarious at best.
This is my go to mixer for rum and Coke Zero. I like it better than Bacardi (who owns Castillo) at a lot less $$.
Castillo is literally the Bacardi that "isn't good enough" like Busch is to Budweiser. That said, I'll be damned if I can tell the difference. Both suck...for a few dollars more, buy a bottle of Cruzan Light. It's significantly better for nearly the same price.
Castillo silver is by far my favorite rum for mixing. Completely outshines and out classes bacardi. I keep a 1.75L in my freezer at ALL TIMES.
Could swap in for a Bicardi or maybe a Cruzan silver. Taste is minimal with no real strong notes. For the price it's not offensive but not astonishing. Good for Fogcutters or other drinks where stronger flavors will join in.
Absolutely nothing but a mixer. Cheap inexpensive decent flavored mixer.
I don't think this rum is that bad.
Granted,it's not high end but it is superior to the other cheap rums(that cost more) & does just fine as a mixer.Just dandy for fruit juice & cola drinks & not too nasty straight . A little harsh
going down straight but there's a lot worse!
Best of the bottom shelf!

I got it to make frozen daiquiris with.
Would I drink it straight?
No. That's very obviously not what it's for. But as a mixer, I actually like it better than Captain Morgan, quite frankly. It's perfect for making a good frozen daiquiri with, and that's what I wanted.
This light Puerto Rican rum wasnt by far the best but wasn't horrible compared to other light rums i have had in the past.and the price was right we purchased 3 cases for a wedding to make a simple rum punch drink for the masses.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I wouldn't drink this straight-up or on the rocks, but it does well as a mixer for those on a budget.
