Bayou Spiced

I think, I found my new number one, day-to-day sipper. Absolutely love it straight, room temp. And the price!

Sometimes too sweet but definitely enjoyable😉 but to my mind a bit overpriced - it should cost equally to Morgan Black Spiced I think.

A very solid spiced rum for sipping. Not as good as Chairman's but definitely recommended. Spices are not overwhelming the rum itself which is kind of nice. It is an "upgraded" version of Bayou Reserve rum.

It's pretty smooth, not too sweet (though sugar is clearly present), the spices have a certain complexity (i.e. it's more than just vanilla or cinnamon) and don't have that synthetic taste that some spiced rums have. Easily the best spiced rum I've had, and I feel like I got great value at 20€/bottle.

I tried this spiced rum at a distillery tour in 2023. Unlike many of its compatriots, it is not overspiced and some of the rum flavour comes through. I think it would be good for spiced rum cocktails since it would allow other flavors to play as well.

Tasted 11/29/21 at Laka Lono, an evening that began with Flora Cana 18 so I will note that is a hard rum to follow.
I sipped this and then quickly converted it to a rum and coke. And added more coke. It does have a wonderful vanilla aroma, but I found the rum itself to be quite astringent. This rum will not hurt you, and it will be nice in a stadium cup on ice with a lot of cola.

Tasted March 24, 2023 at Flotsam Paradise. I want to upgrade this rating due to the lovely vanilla flavor. But I can't.

On the nose, this rum only gives off light sweetness and vanilla. Harsh on the palate, finishes medium long. Definitely a spice that reminds me of big red gum haha. It's not quite an autumnal or holiday spice, but close. This would be nice with a cream soda or egg nog.

Lovely branded square bottle full of spiced rum. It's a vanilla bomb. Sweet, thick, caramelish. I would say great amount of bite, seems fairly balanced and goes down smoothly.

Expected a sugar bomb, was pleasantly proven wrong. Tons of wood and cinnamon, a tad dry, and develops into vanilla towards the end. A pretty good spiced rum!
